A small Florida town is turned upside down when a retired Boston police homicide detective finds himself in the middle of a murder conspiracy. After two hit men make an attempt on his life, protagonist Liam O’Connor becomes the focus of a homicide investigation and embarks in a race against time to find out who is after him.

Struggling with the ghosts of his past, Liam must traverse the details of his old cases to find clues as to who, and why, someone would want him dead. Daunting facts begin to emerge as O’Connor realizes the attempted hit is connected to the recent murder of a former Boston police captain and his own deceased father.

O’Connor must form new allies if he is to survive the investigation, so he befriends the local police detective, Officer John Tibedoe, and starts to fall for the beautiful Officer Tina Youngblood. Will those closest to him be his salvation, or will Liam find himself trusting the wrong people in The Key To Betrayal?

Born and raised in California, author John Matthew Lee is a third-generation law enforcement officer with fifteen years spent as a homicide detective, sergeant, and detective commander. His extensive career with the Sheriff’s Department helped formulate his unique storytelling perspective.
