The Living Words- Volume 1

Author: Jeff Benner

ISBN 978-1-60264-114-3 (softcover)

160 pages

Reading a translation of any book is just not the same as reading it in its original language and is adequately stated in the phrase "lost in the translation." When-ever a text is translated from one language to another it loses some of its flavor and substance. The problem is compounded by the fact that a language is tied to the culture that uses that language. When the text is read by a culture different from the one it is written in, it loses its cultural context. A Biblical example of this can be found in the Hebrew word tsur which is translated as a rock - "He only is my rock and my salvation, he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved" (Psalm 62:2, KJV). What is a rock and how does it apply to God? To us it may mean solid, heavy or hard but the cultural meaning of the word tsur is a high place in the rocks where one runs to for refuge and defense, a place of salvation. The Living Words is an in-depth study into the Ancient Hebrew vocabulary and culture of the Bible replacing the flavor and substance that has been removed from us.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

When Mr. Benner first began his research and studies in the Ancient Hebrew alphabet, language and culture of the Bible he quickly discovered that all of the available Bible translations, dictionaries and lexicons are coming from a modern Greco-Roman perspective, ignoring the original Hebraic perspective of the text. Mr. Benner's research has been published in several books, including a lexicon of Ancient Hebrew and a translation of Genesis, as well as at his website (http://www.ancient-hebrew.org).

Worshipping Yahweh as The Great I Am or Fear of the LORD as it is to be

Intellectually, the construct of the Hebrew language is beyond the scope of many. Suggesting this book highly as a resource to cut through layers of artificial understandings of the Word. Is there a Volume Two? Originally was studying the fear of the LORD from Deuteronomy 6. Best explanation of fear/reverence of Yahweh! Long suspected we were missing something at face value. Not sure if it is in the body of writings, but what Yeshua accomplished in Mattiyahu 4 is breathtaking in light of the Hebrew. Thank you kind sir for your work. What a rich history and legacy the Ezra and Ancient Hebrew are together. Humbling to remember the work of holiness in Mankind through ________/Yeshua/Jesus by the power of the Ruach HaKodesh/Holy Spirit to honor Avi Ad/Father of Eternity. Correct me for any errors.
