This is a humorous manuscript on the subject of Australian slangs, cultural diversity, and societal make-up. It is an attempt to capture what makes us unique as a nation. The work is well-researched, properly referenced, engaging and humorous. It is also somewhat autobiographical chronicling the author's journey to become an Aussie.

This work is unique in that it presents the material as follows:
1. Four sets of 50 multiple choice questions (200 in total), testing knowledge of a slang word, Australianism, or basic knowledge of the country. The material is new and amusing. The replies are cleverly chosen to frustrate guess-work.
2. A scoring sheet.
3. A section where the questions are individually dissected. The correct answer given, and the Australianism upon which it was based explained.
4. A glossary that is specific to this work and thus not overly laborious.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Jimbo is a wog; of that there is no argument and he has no objections to being so identified, either. He will begrudgingly accept the descriptor "camel-driver" too but there were no camels in Tehran and yes you would find Tee-shirts, denim Jeans, chocolate, automobiles, etc. However there was no boat involved in his migration to this country and such a suggestion does make him have a spaz attack.
Jim's mother nation, Iran, saw a revolution and a war and much upheaval prompting his parents to migrate to the United States initially and ultimately to Australia. He was a lad of eleven when the exodus out of Iran began. Not knowing any English he attempted the last years of high school in the USA and Australia - school books in one hand and dictionary in another - and then trained to become a surgeon.
The references in this book are heavily skewed towards Melbourne and Sydney as these cities are where he spent the bulk of his university education before setting out to England and Ireland to further his surgical training.
