Now Playing At A Theater Near Me
by Tim McGlynn

Were you in high school during the seventies? Where did you go with your friends at night or on the weekends? Without computers, DVDs or wireless phones you probably spent a lot of time at the movies. You didn't learn about sex and profanity at home, you experienced it bigger than life at the single screen theaters and drive-ins in your hometown. Take a trip back to the days before cable, computers and gourmet coffeehouses.

"Now Playing at a Theater Near Me," a humorous and slightly cynical memoir, is a trivia packed chronicle of life and growing up during the late sixties and early seventies, a time when the motion picture industry struggled to keep up with the rapidly changing issues and morals of the time. Join author Tim McGlynn and friends as they crowded into the local grindhouse to see . . .

The Living Words- Volume 1
by Jeff A. Benner

Reading a translation of any book is just not the same as reading it in its original language and is adequately stated in the phrase "lost in the translation." When-ever a text is translated from one language to another it loses some of its flavor and substance. The problem is compounded by the fact that a language is tied to the culture that uses that language. When the text is read by a culture different from the one it is written in, it loses its cultural context. A Biblical example of this can be found in the Hebrew word tsur which is translated as a rock - "He only is my rock and my salvation, he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved" (Psalm 62:2, KJV). What is a rock and how does it apply to God? To us it may mean solid, heavy or hard but the cultural meaning of the word tsur is a high place in the rocks where one runs to for refuge and defense, a place of salvation. The Living Words is an in-depth study into the Ancient Hebrew vocabulary and culture of the Bible replacing the flavor and substance that has been removed from us.

Ascending from Boyhood: A Guide to Successful Manhood in America
by Donald F. Keene

Have you noticed the growing commotion about young boys in America? Have you noticed anxious parents and guardians shoving their exhausted sons and dependents into yet another activity that supposedly guarantees their success?

Is there reason for their worry?

Even with loving, caring, indulging parents, a significant number of boys will grow up to be desperate and empty men. Boys without supportive parents will fare even worse. According to the US Government, incarceration awaits more than ten percent of American boys born in 2001.

In the absence of two critical components of a young boy's life…the basic principles of life, and a plan to achieve their dreams…boys will be lured towards their increasingly unruly peers and a pleasure-seeking contemporary society.

You can step in and fill that absence. Give this book to a boy you love or care about. Open his eyes to a bright, happy and successful future. Let him see why his life depends on the choices he makes right now. Give him the basic principles to make those choices correctly.

Better yet, read this book with that boy. He will thank you for the rest of his life.

Are You Positive?
by Stephen Davis

Tyree Johnson stands accused of first-degree murder in a South Carolina courtroom. His crime? Making love to his girlfriend after he had been diagnosed HIV-Positive.

The defense, however, claims there is no reasonable doubt that Tyree's diagnosis was wrong-that, according to numerous scientific studies, these so-called “HIV tests” are fraught with errors, and have been ever since their inventor, Dr. Robert Gallo, lied on his patent application.

Furthermore, Tyree's lawyer argues that there is no scientific evidence that HIV is transmitted by heterosexual intercourse, and that Tyree's girlfriend died from taking lethal anti-retroviral drugs rather than from any HIV/AIDS illness.

Ripped from the headlines of today's newspapers, Are You Positive? Raises serious questions about whether anyone has every been properly diagnosed as HIV-positive, and whether most people today are dying from the HIV medications prescribed by their doctors.
