ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jerrold Cohen came from a family of Jews, some of whom were killed in the Russian pogroms. Growing up during the Holocaust, he feared that Jews would always be in danger. Delighted with the establishment of Israel in 1948, years later, he found that Israel brutally mistreated the Palestinian people. This disturbed him so much that he systematically learned about the occupation from Israeli and Palestinian online media daily, keeping a record of the important occupation news. He wrote his novel, Awakened, about the Israeli conflict in 2004, and published a daily e-mail newsletter on the Israeli/Palestinian conflict from 2005 to 2007, when illness forced him to stop. Following his recovery, he wrote this book to summarize the disturbing facts he had learned about Israeli mistreatment of Palestinians. Dr. Cohen comes from a background of science and healthcare. His many years of schooling and professional work trained him to doggedly pursue the facts and separate them from hype, as the reader will quickly see on reading this book.
