Clare Woodward has had many careers, including librarian, computer programmer, museum curator and shop assistant (the only job from which she was ever fired!). Her first novel, Alive and Kicking, was published by Tregolwyn in 2000. Under her real name, Clare is an established non-fiction author on historical subjects. She lives in a quiet village in the Vale of Glamorgan, Wales, UK, with her husband and two daughters.
