"Park Ranger Joe Higgins: Routine," by Al Uy. ISBN 978-1-60264-699-5 (softcover). $8.95. 124 pages. At Eagle Mountain Park, Park Ranger Higgins just started his shift thinking to be an easy one. But nothing is quiet for Ranger Higgins and his partner who first respond to a serious accident to the entrance of the park getting to the scene with lights and siren. Luckily, with his training and experience he is well prepared for emergency events.
The car accident is the first event in a series of action events throughout the rangers shift. He and his partner Ranger Pike respond to emergencies in the park like a bad car accident, wild animals, a helicopter evacuation, a missing dog, and investigating a suspicious event near a lake.
As the rangers respond to situations, they use trucks, all-terrain vehicles and even a boat to get them to the emergency. At the same time, they have to utilize tools they were trained to use and work alongside others in the park.
Follow Ranger Higgins rescue action in this first book of a series. More series to follow Ranger Higgins in other rescue and adventure situations like hurricanes, water rescues, cave rescues and saving animals.
