What would it be like to cross the border from one world into a magical place completely unlike anywhere you've ever been? Follow Claire as she journeys from a decaying city into Insominy - a place that can't be located on any map. Insominy is a utopian haven for artists, that is, until it begins to shrink and some of its magic goes awry. Will it become a dystopia similar to the dying city of Pentimento? Claire must live and work in that worsening urban nightmare as she awaits the renewal of her visitor's status to Insominy. Yet is Insominy shrinking so fast that visitors will soon be unable to enjoy all it has to offer? "Insominy" is both a contemporary Urban Fantasy, as well as an identity quest of a middle-aged woman. It is a work of speculative fiction that explores both utopian and dystopian worlds. More than a quest novel, it examines the gray areas in love and friendship, and speaks of loss, transformation, and ultimately redemption.
