Of course, this is not about you, but rather, it is the tale of President-elect BENEDICT JACKSON RYAN nee/born FAUSTUS (nickname "Benno"), an amoral, womanizing scoundrel who, after a lifetime of outrage, will either be finally and spectacularly brought to a satanic (yet judicial) accounting, or, alternatively, be sworn in as President of the USofA. You will meet Benno's defense attorney, the great American orator, William Jennings Bryan (or his double); Benno's fiery wife, partner-in-crime and a U.S. Senator in her own right, Rachele Diana (the"Huntress") Ryan; and, the notorious "hanging" judge and jury that will hear Benno's case.
Notwithstanding his amoral life style of self-indulgence, Benno's charm and sense of humor make him a hard person to hate. Might we not actually admire in secret his stylish refusal to live by our rules?
ABOUT THE AUTHOR
DIOGENES (the Younger) is the nom de plume of the Author of this novella/play. He was born and raised in the Midwestern United States, and is a graduate of a leading Midwestern law school. Before embarking on a literary career as a writer/editor, he was engaged (chronologically) in the private practice of law in Chicago; a trial attorney in Chicago with the U.S government agency engaged in the prosecution of securities fraud; counsel in Washington, D.C. with the U.S government agency engaged in the promotion and funding of U.S. exports including the secret financing of covert military exports in conjunction with the Defense Department and the CIA; partner in a major Wall Street investment banking firm based in Paris and New York City, and most recently, an independent investment banking consultant with a global client base
Over the many years of a long and varied career, DIOGENES (the Younger) has carried on his namesake's thankless task of seeking the proverbial honest man amongst the sharp cookies, nut-jobs and wheeler-dealers with whom he has come in contact - a task at which he has to date failed. He currently divides his time between New York City and Europe with his wife of 35 years.
