ABOUT THE AUTHOR Ilil Arbel is a writer and editor, and has a Ph.D. in the field of mythology and folklore. She is the author of the book, Maimonides: A Spiritual Biography, published by Crossroad Publishing. She regularly contributes articles to Encyclopedia Mythica, an on-line, award-winning encyclopedia of mythology and folklore. Her previous book was a high-school curriculum-enrichment book about Wicca's historical development and connection to ecology and the life sciences. She created several natural history books for Dover Publications' Pictorial Archives, and contributed articles and educational materials to various science and health publications. Ilil lived and studied in Tel Aviv, Paris and New York. Currently she resides in Manhattan, and satisfies her love of natural history by growing a dense indoor jungle where her cat Morticia, who looks just like a miniature black leopard, prowls and stalks any moving object.
