The complexities of contemporary life call for mature spirituality. Many adults are finding it difficult to live out of the simplistic faith they learned as a child. This book offers a graduate level, in-depth understanding of religious faith minus a confusing theological vocabulary that simply muddies the waters. It deals with such fundamentals as knowing God in a high-tech world, defining who Jesus really was (and is), understanding the Bible and the meaning of prayer and what to do when lost in the darkness while feeling out of touch with God. This book is a celebration of faith in the twenty-first century and leads the way to a whole new quality of life—to a wholeness and oneness with God who reaches out in unconditional love.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

At mid-career, Mr. Burgess attended the Ecumenical Theological Seminary in Detroit, MI, where he earned a Doctor of Ministry degree. During his forty year ministry in New York and Vermont, he incorporated a counseling center to treat cancer patients with a protocol combining psychotherapy and spiritual discipline, and an inter-faith house church called Faith Community.
