ABOUT THE AUTHOR
John J. Doherty is a recognized pioneer and visionary
in the field of transition, with more than 25 years of
leadership in this highly competitive field. He wrote The
Ultimate Job Guide when he first identified the need for
his services to corporations and their executives in the
1970s, many years before such services became popular and
necessary.
Doherty is CEO of Doherty International, Inc., which
he formed in 2000, to provide employee transition planning
and counseling plus related services. Prior to that he
served as chairman and CEO of an internationally ranked
consulting firm, He serves on the board of advisors of
Options Unlimited, a retirement counseling firm, and for a
decade was on the board of advisors of Mercy Hospital and
Medical Center. He is a senior member of the Chicago Club
and the Philadelphia Union League Club.
Currently Doherty is Executive Director, on sabbatical,
of the Career Networking Business Ministry of Our Lady of
Perpetual Help in Glenview, Illinois. This group ministry
