“Mother and Me,” by Roslyn Goodman Levinson. ISBN 978-1-60264-802-9. (softcover) 308 pages. $14.95.

A 31-year-old widow and her young daughter travel over 2,000 miles from their former home in Dubuque, IA to start a new life in Miami Beach, FL. But culture shock, hurricanes and an “invasion” of soldiers about to leave to fight in World War II, make life more complicated for the duo.

More adjustments are in order when the mother remarries and adds three new children and her new husband to the mix.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR

Roslyn Goodman Levinson retired from Levinson Communications, the public relations agency she founded and operated for more than 30 years. After retiring, she began writing memoirs.
