ISBN 978-1-60264-557-8, $26.50, 340 pages. There are many books written about management (or project managements), but not many books are written exclusively for management and control for the IT industry or projects and most of current books are not applicable or even practical for the IT industry. One other common problem with most of current book is too much concentration on theoretical aspects and in many cases, the presented techniques and procedures do not work in practical environment and in other words they are considered to be out of touch with reality. This book has been written with full consideration of these shortcomings (with current books) and it has two key characteristics: - It is exclusively written for the IT industry and projects and applicability of techniques and procedures to information technology is being constantly referred to. - It is very practical, in other words this book is very industrial oriented rather than being just about the management theory. The other key and unique feature of this book is its comprehensiveness. This book covers different variety of project management techniques and approaches. This ranges from different variety of project management practices such as scope, time, cost and risk managements to practical project control and strategic managements. In addition, it also covers areas such as development and testing.
