Greg M. Romaneck has visited Isle Royale over 15 times. In those trips he hashad the opportunity to hike virtually every mile of trails on the island whileaccumulating almost 1000 miles of travel by foot in the park. Greg is theauthor of 12 books and hundreds of articles on a wide range of subjectsincluding Civil War history, Buddhism, backpacking, leadership, education, andself-improvement. This is Greg’s third book dealing with Isle Royale NationalPark and represents his close affiliation with this remote place. Greg iscurrently employed as the Director of Human Resources for Batavia SchoolDistrict in Batavia, Illinois. Greg resides in DeKalb, Illinois along with hiswife, Jane. Jane and Greg have three children- Kyle, Erin, and Colin.
