ABOUT THE AUTHORS
Zoë A. Lewis, M.D. DAAHPM, FACP received her medical doctorate summa cum laude from the University of Rome School of Medicine, ‘La Sapienza,’ Rome, Italy. She completed her internal medicine residency training in the University of Pennsylvania Healthcare System, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. She is a diplomat of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine, (DAAHPM) and is a Fellow in the American College of Physicians, (FACP).
Active in both physician and community education on issues of end-of-life care and general medicine, she has regularly presented medical grand rounds in New England, South Florida, and nationally for hospice and end-of-life care conferences. She has numerous publications to her credit. She currently works as a consultant for hospice programs and continues to practice internal medicine. Her special interests are the development of art and music therapy programs for hospice patients with an emphasis on improving quality of life.
