ISBN 978-1-60264-346-8, $13.95, soft cover. 978-1-60264-347-5, $21.20, hardcover. 227 pages. Two large aerospace companies enter into an agreement to produce commercial jet engines parts in Japan. The transition to manufacture the parts in Japan moves smoothly at first with the assistance of a technical support team. The owner of Hawthorn Industries has second thoughts about the joint venture and hires Rick Emersons firm to investigate. Rick learns of the sudden death of a member of the American technical support team while en route to Japan. Rick has confrontations with Japanese executives during his investigation. He discovers evidence of illegal military hardware in Japan and returns to America to meet with Hawthorn executives, only to find an American senator and two military officers who try to persuade him from any further investigation of the agreement, in the name of national security. The more Rick investigates, the wider the conspiracy grows. Ricks employer brings in highly visible U.S. Senator McCabe who unites several federal agencies to put a stop to the illegal activities of a right-wing group, the Federated Freedom Council. The story reaches a climax with a confrontation between Rick, members of the FFC and the two corporations crooked executives, in the Cayman Islands.ABOUT THE AUTHOR Jerry Gerrish worked in the aerospace industry and financial community for several years. He has his master of science degree in management from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. He resides in Connecticut with his wife, where he now devotes most of his time to writing. Although Corporate Secrets is a work of fiction, Jerry spent time working in Japan where part of this story takes place. He describes Japan and its people from his personal knowledge of the country. He is a former instructor at an aerospace manufacturers engineering technical university. His hobbies include sports, music and antique automobiles. He studied karate for several years. Jerry played football in college and currently coaches football at the high school level. He still races antique automobiles, as much as time allows, and he dreams of playing par golf someday.
