America imprisons more of its young males than any other country in the world.

Less than half of America’s young males graduate from high school.

America still sends high-tech jobs overseas because its own labor force can’t handle those jobs.

Who cares, right? Maybe you care. Maybe you know at least one American boy who could easily succeed and live a productive, prosperous , happy life.

But most likely, he won’t. Unless you help him. This book shows you how to do just that.

Follow young Tyler as he struggles with poverty, no father, and bad luck that never seems to end…until Mr. Harris (his old mentor) reappears and shows him the way to happiness and success.

This book was written for that one American boy you know who desperately wants to succeed…but doesn’t know how and won’t learn how without your help. With the tiniest effort, you could help that boy succeed.

Here’s all it takes. Offer to be a mentor to that boy. If that doesn’t work for you, give him a copy of this book. It’s meant to be a mentor in a book.

Go ahead. Do it. That one boy will be forever grateful.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Donald Keene, Ph.D., presently lives in Western Washington overlooking Puget Sound. He experienced a rewarding career, first as an oceanographer, then as an environmental manager. Although his adult years were successful, he knew he had escaped a childhood overstocked with potential for failure. Looking back, he wondered how he could help young men who find themselves in even more precarious and discouraging situations today. After retiring, Dr. Keene began studying the present-day approaches to nurturing and preparing young American boys, trying to understand why young American males often fall headlong into destructive and troublesome futures. He discovered that very few young men have a sense of purpose for their lives. More often than not, they are left to figure life out by themselves, relying on the media or their peers.

For those young men who crave a sense of purpose and a rewarding career to match, this book provides solid guidance…a mentor in a book. If you are a parent, guardian, or just someone who cares about such a boy, this book may help assist a young man to find his bright, shining future in America.
