New Book Depicts One Man’s Encounter as an Illegal Immigrant

Posted on November 09, 2012 by Bobby Bernshausen | 0 Comments

Author Joel Savage explores the struggles of being an illegal immigrant in Europe in his new book, Overseas Chronicle: The Rome and Amsterdam Experience.

In his third memoir, Savage documents his travels from Rome to Amsterdam. Surviving encounters with the Mafia and sleeping in abandoned factories in Italy, Savage decided to move camp to Amsterdam, hoping for a better life. Instead, he realized the hard immigration policies and liberal abuse of drugs and alcohol had taken a toll on the immigrants in Amsterdam and he wanted no part of it. Hoping to obtain documentation to rid him of his immigrant status, Savage ended up in many difficult situations, one of which included being arrested and put behind bars.

In this passionately written book, the reader gains insight into the pain and agony of being an outsider stuck in a foreign country when all one wants is to be a part of it. Joel Savage’s novel is a must-read for those hungry for a cultural experience.

Savage was born in Ghana before becoming a citizen of Sierra Leone. His father influenced him at an early age to pursue journalism, and since then he has written for numerous newspapers in Ghana and Belgium. He currently lives in Belgium with his wife and three children. He freelances for newspapers, magazines, and television and is a member of the Flemish Journalism Association in Belgium.

Overseas Chronicle is available in softcover (ISBN 978-1-62137-127-4), and e-book (ISBN 978-1-62137-128-1) from Virtualbookworm.com, Amazon.com, and Barnesandnoble.com. The Ruler of an Empire is Tested by the Unexpected in New Fantasy Book

Posted on October 19, 2012 by Bobby Bernshausen | 0 Comments

Ancient Chinese history collides with the supernatural in the Troy Jackson’s new book, The Elementals.

Upon unifying seven warring states under one banner, the First Emperor of China begins solidifying his power for a visionary thousand-year reign. He starts a series of arduous projects including the Great Wall and the Linqu Canal, cold-heartedly choosing to ignore the physical and emotional toll they have on his people.

The Dragon’s Spite is the only thing standing between the Emperor and his millennial reign. The secretive insurgent group wishes to usurp control of the throne by any means, but must first gather their forces strewn throughout the kingdom. Their biggest challenge by far is to seek out three extraordinary girls who hold vast supernatural powers that can tip the balance in their favor, but they must find them before the Emperor does.

Troy Jackson currently resides outside of Atlanta with his wife and daughter. His passion for history, fantasy, and science fiction began at an early age with a little nudge from his brother. He received a Bachelor’s Degree in History and Master’s in Teaching from Georgia College and State University in Milledgeville. Although new to writing, Jackson intends on writing about subjects that have always fascinated him including fantasy, adventure, science fiction and history.

New Book Brings Light to Progressivism in America

Posted on October 08, 2012 by Bobby Bernshausen | 0 Comments

Dr. Anthony Napoleon argues that progressivism is bad for America and reveals what this “virus” has in store for the country in his new book, The Progressive Virus: Why You Can’t Permit it to Go Forward.

America has a fever; a mysterious illness that has transformed this country to look nothing like what the founders intended. Whether you call it progressivism, socialism, or communism, America’s greatness is rooted in the philosophical opposite of the socialist collective.

Napoleon removes the curtain hiding progressive secrets, revealing the truth about the progressive’s revolution for America by identifying the engineers who created this “virus” and why they spread it to the general public.  These revolutionaries are operating in stealth mode and Napoleon attempts to open Americans’ eyes to expose the true condition of this country. As a legal expert, Napoleon argues against the progressive ideology throughout his book by going back in history to point out its origins, explaining how it grew into what it is today, and then pointing out  how and why we should stop it.   Anthony Napoleon, PhD is a licensed clinical and forensic psychologist practicing in California. He is president of Napoleon Legal Consulting, Inc. To learn more about Dr. Napoleon and his work, you can visit his website at www.napoleonlegal.com.

The Progressive Virus is available in softcover (ISBN 978-1-62137-130-4) hardcover (ISBN 978-1-62137-137-3) and Ebook (ISBN 978-1-62137-138-0) from Virtualbookworm.com, Amazon.com, and Barnesandnoble.com. New Book Series Follows Families through American History

Posted on August 23, 2012 by Bobby Bernshausen | 0 Comments

The second book in the Diane McAdams Gladow series, A Journey of Voices: Stewards of the Land, follows the Crume family through seven generations of rich American history.

Gladow’s A Journey of Voices series begins with book one, A Journey of Voices: Chasing the Frontier, and continues with Stewards of the Land  tracing common, ordinary families through letters, pictures, land documents, Bible records, and historical references with accounts on the family’s lives and movement through generations.

While the first book in the series focused on the lineage of the Jordan family, the second installment charts the whereabouts in history of the Crume family. Whether it be flatboating down the Ohio River, building homes in the wilderness, fighting in the American Revolution, enduring the Civil War in a border state, dealing with Indians in Texas, surviving the Great Depression and Dust Bowl, or experiencing two world wars, this family will continue to surprise and challenge readers to look at history in a completely new way.

Diane McAdams Gladow is a former English Composition instructor at Emporia State University, heading the Emporia Literacy Program and working for the University’s Grammar Hotline. She has authored two other books, one a memoir of her husband’s family, Rich Heritage, and the other the first book in the A Journey of Voices series, Chasing the Frontier.

A Journey of Voices: Stewards of the Land is available in softcover (ISBN 978-1-62137-075-8) from Virtualbookworm.com, Amazon.com, and Barnesandnoble.com. This book can also be ordered from most bookstores around the United States and United Kingdom. More information can be found at the author’s website, www.dianegladow.com.
